Sponsored Médecins sans frontières

It’s been a year since I registered SpryWise as company. One of the reasons I did this was to be able to have complete control over my own time and money. I wanted to be able to take a long vacations to spend more time with my kids but I also want to be able to do things that don’t generate much money. In spite of this, it’s had been a good year financially so I could also share a bit with Médecins sans frontières.

Thank you to all my friends, network and not least client, that made this possible!

Happy Holidays!

Presented at SAST Q4

Presented at SAST Q4

Yesterday I had the privilege to present at SAST Q4 together with a line-up of great speakers such as Lottie Knutson talking about crisis management and Karin Wahlén showing the awesome journey Östersunds FK had done combining soccer and culture.

My talk of the day was on Centered Leadership – You and Me, Here and Now. The purpose was to show the importance of being present in all our interactions with other people and how we can help each other increase our self-esteem by making sure that we are centered in ourselves and that we strike a balance between self, other and context whenever we meet. The audience got to do a short meditation to center themselves and to play a short version of the exercise “With whom do I have the pleasure” to see how our previous experiences affect our present conversations.

If you’d be interested in learning more about Centered Leadership, please reach out and we’ll have a chat.

Joining Satir Global Network

Being a student and practitioner of Virginia Satir models for several years I decided to join the Satir Global Network.

If you’re interested in learning more about the world of Satir or running a Satir inspired workshop in your organisation, please give me a call.

My New Status Quo

This should probably have been published on my first day but it got stuck somewhere, somehow. Anyway, just a brief history of why this site came to be…

This will be my 20th year as a consultant and I decided that once again it was time for a change. I’ve been through a lot of them but this somehow feels a bit bigger than most … and yet, it probably isn’t. Over the years I’ve been employed by five different consultant companies and somehow being employed has felt like a security blanket but intellectually I know that the security is a delusion. I’ve seen the best intentions crumble during downturns and people getting sacked when the assignments fail to come through. So after 20 years I’ve decided to leave my teddy bear behind and start my own business.

It feels like a huge leap but at the same time it will really just be more of the same. I’ll keep doing what I love to do and what I’m good at; helping organizations improve their ways of delivering software and caring for the people doing the work.

Running my own business means that I should probably have a web page but since the business is just me, the one thing that came to mind to put here was my blogging, whenever that happens. This means that my old blog (My mind’s discourse) probably will start gathering dust from now on. I thought that I might put the occasional personal story there but then I realized that keeping my business and my personal ideas separate doesn’t make a lot of sense anymore. Whatever I say and think doesn’t only represent me now, it’s also representative of my company spryWISE. My values are important to me and they will be a part of my professional life as well.

Whether you need help in your organization, want to meet up for a social lunch or cup of coffee or just ask me a question, feel free to give me a call or send me a message. I’d love to hear from you!
